S&W Model 10 House Gun

model10.jpg

This is my house gun.  I stash it in various places, depending on the day of the week.  It's basically just another S&W .38 Special.  Wait a minute, how can I discount a prized belonging like that?  Seriously, this gun is everything that S&W means to me and to most of the world.  Built like a tank, pleasing to the eye, and as reliable as gas price increases.  This is the gun that probably protects more households than labs, retrievers and bulldogs combined.  Pictured here with my home rolled 158 gr. SWC slugs.  This gun has a beautiful deep blue and laminated grips.  It also features a fixed "trench" site.  That means to point the gun and pull the trigger cuz there ain't much for sights.  This is not a bullseye target gun, and wasn't design for such.  It is for putting holes in someone who is where he ain't supposed to be, plain and simple.

Read and heed.  This is a marking that will some day be a rare thing (Made in USA).  Heck, it already is a rare thing.  I hope that we all wake up and realize what is happening in this country.  I don't know that we can stop it, or if our children will even care.  I'm about to the point where I declare a "buy" on any gun anything that is marked Made in USA.  It is slipping away.  Not all imported stuff is bad, some of it is actually good.  But it is a changing world.  Enough of my nostalgia.....

This is my 12 yard target.  Six rounds.  There is one at the top of the black.  This "flyer" was shot before I sat down and got cozy at the bench.  The other five are a nice group.  This is plenty accurate for up close and personal work.
